Martial Arts Business Podcast Episode 24: How To Stop Being Broke

How to stop being broke podcast episode

How to stop being broke podcast episodeOkay, let’s face it – being broke sucks. I have been there, done that, got the t-shirt, and the scars to boot. I know being in business is hard, and that it doesn’t always go the way we imagined it would when we first decided to open a martial art studio.

But honestly… do you really have to be broke to teach good martial arts?

No, not by a long shot. In fact, all you have to do is look around to find martial artists who are teaching quality martial arts and still making a great living doing it. So, if that’s the case, it must be something else that’s causing good martial arts instructors to be broke.

Well, that’s what I am addressing in this podcast episode. In this week’s podcast, I pull no punches and explain exactly what I believe every martial art school owner needs to do in order to develop good financial habits and to stop being broke.

Then, in the Tip of the Week I explain the importance of profit projections, and how to go about creating a profit forecast for your business.

If you’ve ever struggled to turn a profit in your martial art school, you’ll want to listen to this podcast.

Podcast Excerpt:

“Hey folks, Mike Massie here coming at you once again from sunny Austin, Texas, just a couple of days after surviving the USKMA level one krav maga instructor certification seminar. And, I gotta tell you – it was a blast. We ended up with a really good group of people there training. I was proud and glad to have trained with each and every one of them.

Mark was a lot of fun to be around, and we had some really good training. I always appreciate somebody who can be tough and yet encouraging at the same time. I think those types of personalities make the best instructors, and Mark certainly falls into that category.

So if you missed this seminar, if we happen to schedule another one later this year or next year, I strongly encourage you to make it. I would also encourage you to go to the USKMA.com website if you’re still interested, look at their events calendar, and see if they’re having a level one instructor certification in your area that you can attend. Because if you wait around… you might miss out on business that you could be getting.”
